About DC Auto Repair LLC Appleton, WI

On July 7, 2009, Denae and Chad Katalinick officially opened DC Auto Repair. Opening the shop was a long-standing dream for both Denae and Chad to serve the Fox Valley and surrounding communities, with their automotive repair needs.
The big question was, how would we separate ourselves with so many automotive repair facilities in the Fox Valley?
DC Auto Repair LLC was founded on the basic idea that everyone deserves respect. It is our mission to treat each person that comes through our door with dignity and sensitivity. We believe this attention to detail has paid off by providing us with our loyal, friendly family of customers. That’s what makes DC Auto Repair LLC the best car service in Appleton!
This was the question that became the center of discussion around our dinner table. The answer we came up with over and over would be this simple. Our grandparents would tell us stories of the old times when they would enjoy the small-town atmosphere that the auto industry provided. This soon went away as the small shops became corporate. That is what we decided we wanted to bring back to the community! A sense of security, trust, and respect that came with the mom-and-pop shops that were fading.
Our next step was how to create a business that provided both that small-town family relationship along with the ability and knowledge of a corporate dealership. With these business practices, DC has grown from a one-bay shop to a fully equipped stand-alone eight-bay repair facility. Through the years, our hard work and honesty, and a great clientele base have allowed us to grow to what we are today! We could not have accomplished what we set out to do without the blessings from the Lord and the support from our employees, friends, family, and community.
We look forward to the years to come and the new adventures that await us here at DC Auto Repair and Quick Lube.

During inspection running car in th shop with fan on, found fan hitting fan shroud causing noise guest is hearing. Recommend replacing fan shroud assembly to correct.
- Road tested, felt brakes making kind of soft grinding noise when braking. Pulled in on the hoist, pulled wheels for inspection. Found LF inside rotor heavily scored and grooving, pads 1-2MM. Rear pads at 3MM down to service limits. Recommend replacing both front and rear pads, rotors to correct.
- Lubricate and check chassis. Change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Preform basic safety inspection.

- Hooked up scan tool, put into service mode to gain access to rear calipers. Removed and replaced both front and rear pads, rotors to correct. Sandblasted caliper brackets, cleaned caliper slides and pins. Lubricated caliper slides and pins. Road tested burnish pads to rotors Ok at this time.
- Removed and replace positive crankcase assembly due to leaking oil at the seal.

- Remove all related components to gain access to transmission bell housing bolts, remove failed transmission from vehicle, remove thermostat block from transmission lines, flush transmission oil cooler both directions, replace thermostat block, install replacement transmission reinsstall transfer case , refill transfer case with new oil, reinsstall drive shaft, reinsstall exhaust cats using new fasteners, clamp and gaskets, set fluid level using scan tool road test after replacement transmission now shifts as desired at this time
- Download and program software to replacement transmission all fault codes cleared at this time
- During transmission replacement, remove flex plate, remove failed rear main seal housing, replace rear main seal housing torque fasteners to spec, reinsstall flex plate with new fasteners torque to spec road test reinspect for oil leaks OK at this time

- Remove and replace both lower control arms along with right upper control arm, road test after alignment OK at this time
